Sam Alkhoury, D.M.D.
The first time I thought about being an orthodontist was at age 17. My sister needed orthodontic treatment for her crooked teeth. This had a big impact on her life because she was extremely self-conscious about smiling and sometimes even talking. As my sister went through her treatment, I witnessed her whole personality change and ultimately so did her life; this was amazing! It is truly a profound experience to witness someone you care about go through such an awesome transformation. I believe this is where my passion for orthodontics stems from.
I have a friendly and fun loving staff; they are like a family to me. I also take pride and enjoy the relationships that I have built with each of my patients and their families.
The ability to create beautiful, confident smiles and possibly transform someone’s life for the better is what put me here and keeps me going in the amazing world of orthodontics!
Educational background
Dr. Alkhoury has been practicing orthodontics since 1994. He obtained his Doctoral of Dental Medicine Degree from Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He graduated with honors with the prestigious “Orthodontic Award” from The American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Alkhoury completed his residency in Advanced Education in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics at New York University. Because of his extensive orthodontic background, Dr. Alkhoury was awarded the “Program Director Award”.
In 2007, Dr. Alkhoury was appointed as a faculty member in the Department of General Dentistry at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester. He enjoys teaching and lecturing and considers these events as the ultimate learning experience.
Dr. Alkhoury is part of the International Team for Implantology. He is also a member of The American Dental Association, The Worcester District Dental Society, The MetroWest District Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontists, The Massachusetts Association of Orthodontists and The Massachusetts Dental Society.
A commitment to continuing education has led Dr. Alkhoury to attend many seminars and join many study clubs like The Dawson Accademy and The Elite Spear Institute, The Damon System, Temporary Anchorage Devices (TAD’s or Mini Implants) and Invisalign (Premier Provider). The Damon System is what is considered today the cutting edge in orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Alkhoury is being serving the orthodontic communities of Milford, Holliston, Worcester and Webster since 2005. He loves spending time with his daughter, Talia and son, Zhain. Dr. Alkhoury enjoys traveling, listening to music and watching the Patriots and Red Sox win.
